Walnuts and Kidney Qi

In traditional Chinese medicine, foods are selected that can support the body on an energetic level. This healing essence resonates deeply with different organs. Walnuts support healthy Kidney function.

Ingredients:

Walnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds or nuts or your choice
1/3 cup of raisins
1/3 cup of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
3/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 egg whites (add a third if you are making more than two pounds of nuts)

Directions:

Pre-heat the over to 350 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl add all the nuts and raisins.

Then add the sugar, salt and cinnamon.

In a separate mixing bowl, add the egg whites and beat until frothy.

Mix the egg whites with the nuts and blend very well.

In a parchment lines baking sheet, add the nut mixture making sure it’s only a single layer deep.

Immediately place in the oven. After 20 minutes, toss the nuts, then continuing baking for another 15 minutes or until golden.

Walnuts are a great snack and good addition to warm cereals and other food types. Roasted, the essence of the walnuts will support healthy Kidney function.

Fun Fact:  Notice that walnuts look like the brain.  No surprise that walnuts can also help support healthy brain function.
